Grand tour of Israel including Eilat - 9 Days

Day 1: Arrival in Tel Aviv

Arrival at Ben Gurion Airport where you will be met by our representative and transferred to your hotel.

Day 2: Jaffa - Caesarea - Megiddo - Sea of Galilee

Start the day with a short tour of Tel Aviv to view some highlights of this lively and modern city. Continue to Jaffa to see the ancient port city where the story of Jonah the prophet began. We visit the artists’ quarter, the house of the Tanner Simon and the Church of St. Peter. Heading northbound to CAESAREA, the fortified harbor city that was built 2000 years ago by King Herod. We will visit the Roman amphitheatre the old Aqueduct, the fortress, and the old harbor area. On to Haifa via the Mukhraka which is called also the Horns of Carmel mountain, view the site where Elijah fought the false prophets. Continue to Megiddo, the Fortress City of King Solomon, later built again by King Ahab. The books of Daniel and Revelation will come alive as we study about the final Battle of Armageddon, while viewing the Plains of Jezreel. Arrive to Tiberias for overnight and dinner.

Day 3: Galilee - Capernaum - Tabgha - Caesarea Philippi

After breakfast we drive through the home of Mary Magdalene to the Mount of Beatitudes, where Jesus delivered his Sermon on the Mount. Then a short journey to Capernaum the place where Jesus recruited his followers. We will see the remains of the house of Peter,and the ancient synagogue where Jesus preached to the Multitude. Continue to Tabgha located on the shore of the Sea of Galilee and visit the place where the miracle of the Multiplication of Loaves and Fishes took place. Visit the Church of St. Peter Primacy where Peter got his primacy from the Lord and where the Rock of Mensa Christi is located. Heading north to Golan Heights to visit the Banias which is the place of Caesarea Philipi. Return to Tiberias for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Galilee Area

Start the day with a boat ride on the Sea of Galilee, and visit the ancient wooden boat, which is said to date back to the times of Jesus. Continue to the Baptismal site on the Jordan River, continue to Cana, the place where Jesus performed his first miracle changing water into wine. On to Nazareth, in the way we visit Mary’s Well the site where Angel Gabriel appeared to Mary. Later visit the Basilica of the Annunciation. Drive through the Galilee hills to explore Tzippori (Sepphoris) the Capital of Galilee in Herod’s time. Heading to Mount Tabor and enjoy the spectacular view of the Galilee, there we visit the Church of Transfiguration where Jesus was transfigured in the presence of Peter, James and John. Return to Tiberias for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Tiberias - Beth Shean - Jericho - Jerusalem

After breakfast leave Tiberias and drive to Bet She’an one of the most impressive roman and Byzantine sites in Israel. We visit the ancient city with its fine relics. After lunch Through the Jordan Valley we continue to Jericho, a biblical oldest city from where we will take a view to the Mount Of Temptation. On to Jerusalem for dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Jerusalem - Bethlehem

After a breathtaking panoramic view from the Mount of Olives over the city, visit Dominos Flevit, continue to the Church of All Nations in the Garden of Gethsemane where we see the rock of agony the place where Jesus prayed his last prayer before he was arrested. Walk to Mt.Zion along the way of the Christ. Through the Valley Kidron see the tomb of Absalom, Zachary and James. Stand next to the Southern Wall and view the City of David, then visit the Church of Peter in Gallicantu, the site where Peter denied his Lord three times and also the House of the High Priest Caiaphas who was involved in the trial of Jesus after his arrest in the Garden of Gethsemane. In the afternoon a visit in the Church of the Nativity and Shepherd’s Fields both are located in the city of Bethlehem said to be the birthplace of King David . Return to Jerusalem for overnight.

Day 7: Jerusalem

After breakfast visit to the Western Wall, the most important Jewish religious site located in the Old City of Jerusalem and the last remnant of the Second Temple. Walk up to the Temple site and visit the Dome of the Rock called as well El Aqsa Mosque. Walk to the Pools of Bethesda, and St. Anne’s Church, a fine example of Crusader architecture. Continue along the Via Dolorosa to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, walk through the colorful Bazaar to the Jaffa Gate then we continue to the Garden Tomb. Last we visit Yad vashem, the biggest memorial site in Israel commemorating the Jewish Holocaust in the Second World War. Overnight and dinner in Jerusalem.

Day 8: Qumran - Dead Sea - Massada

After breakfast a drive to Bethany, the site of Lazarus tomb and the House of Mary and Martha. Continue to Jericho the world’s oldest city, take a view to the Mt. of Temptation where Jesus was tempted by the Devil. Next, heading to the Judean desert to the Dead Sea area, considered the lowest point in Earth. By ascending cable car we reach Massada fortress, the place where almost thousand Jews preferred their own death and not to surrender to the Roman forces, enjoy the unique landscape and the impressive ruins of the fortress built by Herod. On to Qumran where the Dead Sea Scrolls where discovered, if time permits enjoy a “float” in the therapeutic and mineral-rich water of the Dead sea. Overnight and dinner in the Dead Sea area.

Day 9: Dead Sea - Timna - Eilat

Travel south to the Negev desert.Visit Sde Boker the place where Ben Gurion lived and died. From the sight of his grave take a breathtaking view to the magnificent Valley Zin. Stop at Mitzpeh Ramon to see the Ramon crater, a very impressive geological wonder. On to Timna to see the copper mines and King Solomon’s pillars and enjoy the scenery of the huge multi-colored rock formations. Arrive to Eilat for overnight.

Day 10: Day at Leisure in Eilat, or optional tour to Petra

Today you can just take a walk and enjoy from what Eilat offers to its visitors, such as the very nice beach promenade, different water sport activities, or just have a seat in one of the many beautiful and modern bars and coffee shops. An opportunity to visit the underwater observatory, one of the largest sea Aquariums in the world,built into a coral reef, or you may take an optional tour to the Rose city of Petra.

Day 11: Eilat - Tel Aviv

After breakfast heading north to Tel Aviv. We Drive to Mamshit in the Negev desert for a unique experience in a biblical landscape. You can try to ride a Camel and also we visit the Bedouin tents located in this area and learn about the Bedouin hospitality and their way of life. On to Tel Aviv for overnight.

Day 12: Departure

Transfer from your hotel to the airport for your departure flight.
